Building Applications

Here are some ways different customers have found Calhoun Superstructres
to be perfect for their needs

Sand and Salt Sheds
A Calhoun Super Structure on concrete walls makes for an ideal and affordable salt shed. With enough width and overhead clearance for machines to comfortably enter and maneuver in, and resistant hot dipped galvanized steel trusses, a Calhoun Super Structure is what your municipality is looking for.

Bedded Pack Barns
This design has become common for folks looking for an easy way to bed their animals and generate valuable compost. The airflow keeps the bedded pack healthy and dry, the steel trusses are away from the animals and bedding, and cleaning the pack out is a breeze. This type of building can be built on concrete walls or blocks, or on wood posts with doubled-up posts for extra strong walls.

Foundations & Options
Below are the foundation options for your Superstructure

Wooden Posts

We build wood post foundations by augering
below frost level and pouring concrete around
the post. We use pressure treated 8x8s, or
super-rugged RigidPly laminated 8x8s.

Steel Legs

Steel leg structures allow for extra height
to your building, and gives you the option
to have the fabric drop down to the foundation
or allow airflow throught the sides.

Concrete Waste Blocks

Concrete waste blocks are a great and
affordable way to build a foundation.
We strap blocks together to solidify
the wall. The building can even be
taken down and moved entirely at a
later date.

Shipping Containers

Shipping containers can be used as a
foundation for a CC Series structure.
This provides additional storage space
inside the countainers, inside the
building and vertical space on top of
the containers.

Bunk Covers

Bunk covers are an option available
for folks looking to lay out feed
on the outside of the building.
